Stillman sets Football/Band Media Day Luncheon

TUSCALOOSA, AL ---The Stillman College Department of Intercollegiate
Athletics will hold its annual Football and Marching Band Media Day on
Saturday, August 25, 2001 at 3:00 p.m. The team picture taking session
will be held at Stillman Stadium. The luncheon will be held at the picnic
area adjacent the stadium and plant operations .
Last season the Tigers ended the finished with a 6-3 record.
Stillman's 2001 schedule includes six home games, a game against
interstate rival Miles College at Legion Field in Birmingham, AL, and
three road games. This season the Division III Tigers will face only NCAA
Division II and NAIA Div. I opponents.
Key Tigers To Watch In 2001:
Junior Linebacker Brenden Givan, Stillman's leading tackler for the past
two seasons. Finished 2000 with 131 tackles and 18 sacks. Givan was an
honorable mention All-American last season.
Junior running back Riccardo Thomas, Stillman's first 1,000-yd rusher. Led
Stillman with 1152 yds from scrimmage and 12 TDs. Named to the USA
FOOTBALL.COM Independent All-Star second team in 2000.
Sophomore tight end Michael Trigg, led Stillman with 29 receptions, 424
yds and 8 TDs. Named to the USA FOOTBALL.COM Independent All-Star second
team in 2000.
Junior free safety Shawn DeFoor, led Stillman with four interceptions last
season.
Players, coaches, band members, students, booster club members and fans
will be available for interviews throughout the media day.
The public is invited to attend this event to meet the coaching staff,
players, band and cheerleaders.
