Thirty-eight Freshman and Newcomers Report to Alabama State University

Montgomery, Ala., -Today, the Alabama State
University Hornets had 38 total freshman and newcomers report to the Alabama State
University football office
for physicals and orientation.
Tomorrow, the Hornets will begin their two-a- day practices with weight testing
and orientation in the morning and in the evening the Hornets will conclude their
day on field practicing in shorts and helmets.
The Hornets will work on their basic fundamentals and techniques, as well
basic offensive and defensive drills.
We are looking for some of these guys to step up and give us the necessary
spark needed too win, said coach L.C. Cole, entering his second season as
head of Alabama State University football program.
On Wednesday August 16, the veteran football players will report to the ASU
football office for physical and will have their first official day of practice
on Friday in shorts and helmets.
The Hornets will hold ASU fan appreciation and picture day on Saturday, Aug.
18, at Cramton Bowl.
The festivities are slated to start at 8 a.m. and will conclude at 10:30 a.m.
The Hornets will face Alcorn State University, on Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Cramton
Bowl for their season opener. Kick-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
