Texas Southern Associate AD/Sports Information Director Resigns

Houston, TX. --Texas Southern University has announced the resignation of Associate Athletics Director/Sports Information Director Jason Jenkins. Jenkins is leaving to become Assistant Public Relations Director for the San Francisco 49ers.

" I have bittersweet feelings about leaving TSU." Jenkins said. "I am happy to see where the program has gone and am excited about the future. TSU will always be home and the administration, coaches and student-athletes are like family to me."

Prior to TSU, Jenkins served as the Athletics Sales and Promotion Manager at Lehigh University from 1997-1999.

Jenkins graduated from Texas Tech University in 1997 with a degree in broadcast journalism. At Texas Tech, he served as Assistant to Director for Athletic Community Relations, Assistant to the Assistant Director for Academic Support Services, Athletic Minority Programs and Designer of the Student-Athlete Handbook.

He also served as sports marketing advisor at Buffalo State College and as a counselor for the National Youth Sports Program (NYSP).
