WSSU Season Opener Returns To Bowman Gray Stadium

Winston-Salem, NC - The Winston-Salem State University season opener against Carson-Newman College will be played at Bowman Gray Stadium on Saturday, August 25, at 6 p.m.

City of Winston-Salem offcials had earlier stated that Bowrnan Gray Stadium would not be available on that date beeause it was the rnake-up rain date for the season finale of the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series. As a result, WSSU arranged to play the game at an alternate site, Deaton~Thompson Stadium.

Since NASCAR ended its season August 18, and the contracted rain date was not needed, University and City of Winston-Salem officials decided to move the game back to its original location, Bowman Gray Stadium.

WSSU Head Coach Kermit Blount will begin his series of weekly press conferences on Wednesday, August 22 at 11 a.m. in room 142 of the Anderson Center located on the campus of Winston-Salem State University. There he will discuss the upcoming opponent as well as any other news related to the WSSU football program. All media outlets are invited to attend.
