Texas Southern Athletics to Host Celebration

Houston, TX. -The Texas Southern University Athletics Department and Harlon's Bayou Blues will host a celebration in the spirit of athletics, Friday, August 24 at its downtown restaurant located at 530 Texas Avenue.

The event is open to the public and will feature a buffet for all participants. Harlon's Bayou Place will have a giveaway for free concert tickets to BB King's performance, October 6 in the Woodlands.

"Texas" Johnny Brown will be the featured performer at the party. Brown was named Texas Blues Artist of the Year.

The event will begin at noon with season ticket sales and last throughout the evening with live performances and appearances from TSU coaches, administrators and student-athletes.

KTSU (90.9 FM) and KCOH (1430 A.M.) will have live broadcasts from the event.

Harlon's Bayou Blues was named by Essence Magazine as one of Houston's hottest nightclubs.
