JCSU Hall of Fame Banquet to feature Earl Woods

The Johnson C. Smith University Golden Bulls 100 Club (official sports booster club for JCSU) is hosting its Annual Sports Hall of Fame Banquet on Friday, August 31, 2001 at the Charlotte Airport Sheraton. The festivities begin with a pre-banquet reception at 6:30p.m. and continue at 7:30p.m. with the Sports Hall of Fame Banquet where this year's sports hall of fame inductees will be introduced.

Earl Woods, father of 'Tiger' Woods will be the guest speaker for the evening.

On Saturday, September 1, 2001, the 6th Annual Eddie C. McGirt Football Classic will begin with a WPEG Radio-sponsored block party at 4:30p.m. at Memorial Stadium, lot #7. Kickoff for the game between the Johnson C. Smith University Golden Bulls and the Bowie State Bulldogs will begin at 7:00p.m.

Entertainment will include the JCSU International Institute of Sound the United House of Prayer for All People Marching Band.

Additionally, each Thursday prior to every Johnson C. Smith University home football game, in conjunction with WPEG/WBAV Radio, the Charlotte Alumni Chapter is sponsoring a 'meet and greet' with the alumni and supporters at the Excelsior Club on Beatties Ford Road.

All proceeds from both events will benefit the Eddie C. McGirt Scholarship Fund.
