Delaware State 27, Millersville (PA) 19Dover, DE --- Fullback Maurice Foster rushed for a career-high 149 yards and two touchdowns to lead Delaware State to a 27-19 win over Division II Millersville (PA) in college football Saturday.The Hornets improved to 1-1, while Millersville fell to 0-2. Delaware State scored first when quarterback Kittrell Barnes capped off a six-play, 47-yard drive with an eight-yard touchdown run with 7:39 left in the first quarter. A bad snap prevented the Hornets from kicking the extra point. After Millersville's Sean Hughes kicked a 28-yard field goal to make it 6-3, Foster scored his first touchdown on 26-yard run late in the first quarter to give Delaware State a 13-3 lead. Millersville's Lynn Fortney intercepted a Barnes pass at the Delaware State 10-yard, and four plays later back-up quarterback Kris Blake scored on a one-yard run to cut the Hornets' lead to 13-10 with 40 seconds left in the first half. Millersville took its first lead of the game 16-13 when Blake hit tight end Brian Mielnik on a two-yard touchdown pass with 9:04 left in the third quarter. The score was set up by a 70-yard pass from Blake to wide receiver Alfa Jackson. Delaware State regained the lead 20-19 when Barnes capped off a 12-play, 90-yard drive with a one yard touchdown run on the last play of the third quarter. After another Millersville field goal cut the lead to 20-19, Foster scored on a five-yard run with 7:28 left to provide the final margin of victory. Delaware State will visit Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference rival North Carolina A&T next Saturday.
